0.1.0 · Development preview
The first Localfirst SSH release is being prepared. No public signed installer or live update channel is available yet.
- Local encrypted host and credential library, recovery keys and encrypted backups.
- SSH terminal tabs, resizable splits, workspace layouts, SFTP browsing and a remote text editor.
- Notes, command previews, optional local agent access, and optional AI provider configuration.
- New public branding, release tooling and an opt-in desktop update interface.
Before trying a preview
Keep an encrypted backup and its matching recovery key. This preview has not received an independent security audit. Save and end important work before installing a different build.
Current limits
- Mac Apple Silicon is the initial release target. Windows runtime qualification and physical iPhone/Android testing remain open. Simulator and emulator checks do not establish physical-device readiness.
- Up to 16 terminal tabs and 5,000 scrollback lines per terminal.
- Regular-file transfers up to 16 MiB. Larger streaming and recursive directory transfers are not complete.
- Remote text editor: up to 12 open files and 1 MiB per file. Recovered drafts must be attached to the same server/account before saving.
- Password and OpenSSH-format key authentication are supported. Hardware-backed SSH keys, certificates and additional authentication flows remain in development.
- Sync requires your own separately configured service. There is no hosted account or recovery service.
